I don't know what to do..?

I have known this guy for not too long and I'm already starting to develop feelings for him. It's just the way he moves, the way he acts, the way he's just him. We talk in cl, but I only have one cl with him, my last hour. He seems really special considering the fact that I've never really had these weird feelings for a guy. I can't stop thinking about him and I've tried asking him for his number but that didn't go too well, the fire alarm went off before he could answer. And now I don't know what to do. My feelings won't subside or won't fade. I'm hoping it won't become too strong, like infatuated, but I don't know what to do. My friend went to homecoming with him and it's just awkward. He's so special, I don't want to lose him as a friend but I think asking him out would be too forward. Plus, I don't hang out with his friends. He's a year older than I am.
