Why cant the LBGT community let go of the fact that proposition 8 ped? Is it necessary to protest?

The voters of California have voted against gay marriage twice. If the protesters spent their time doing more productive things, they could make a difference. Honestly, there are alot more pressing issues than gay marriage, worry about fixing the economy, the environment, stopping violence both international and domestic.
