no the only thing that you could do (and this is a shot in the dark) would be to go through everything and when you get to the counselor and he tells you there are no openings( which will most likely happen. corpsman is what a lot of people wish to do) you still pick another rating you go back to your recruiter and ask him to fill out a dar request which basically says that if a spot opens then you MIGHT be able to get that rate. but if there are no openings then you pretty much are stuck with that other rate you chose
